Epicure - 'Till My Wallet Runs Dry

Epicure is a reggae/rock band from Santa Cruz and this is there first album with a major label and I think they managed to do a great job. I only wish the second half of the album was as outstanding as the first half, but defidently still worth a listen!

Streetlight Manifesto- Live at Enigma, 2005

Great, but quiet quality - it's a 40 minute set. Crank it up !
Especially because it opens with an awesome, original instrumental at the beginning.

2 Brand New Albums

Well since we haven't been able to post anything new for a while because of real life activities, we decided to come back with 3 posts at once. Enjoy :)

Aesop Rock - None Shall Pass
Aesop Rock's latest work None Shall Pass. A decent album with a few good songs such as Coffee and None Shall Pass. Overall I prefer his previous works, but give this a listen its still very good.

The Go! Team - Proof of Youth
The Go! Team is an insanely hyper upbeat mish mash of a million different sounds that all seem to work together so well.

Aesop Rock - Bazooka Tooth
Aesop Rock's fourth full length album. Some very good songs.

Living Legends

Jurassic 5!

A very smooth hip hop group that flows seamlessly from start to finish

Jurassic 5 - Power In Numbers
My personal favorite album :D

Jurassic 5 - Feedback
Jurassic 5's most recent album and in my opinion even though there are a few good songs this album it's a little bit more mediocre than there other works. If you like good hip hop you will probably like this album.

Atmosphere

God Loves Ugly is the third LP by the Minneapolis based hip-hop duo Atmosphere. Slug (pictured above) often raps about personal accounts of his life and his difficult, often destructive relationships with women.

Seven's Travels marks Atmosphere's mainstream success debut. Trying to Find A Balance and National Disgrace were made into singles and videos were made for both.
Seven's Travels

Atmosphere's fifth studio album isn't quite as consistent as previous CDs like the ones posted above, but it isn't lagging far behind. This album features favorites like The Arrival, Smart Went Crazy, Angelface, and Watch Out.
You Can't Imagine How Much Fun We're Having

Either/Or, my personal favorite Elliott Smith album, was released in 1997 and is his third CD. Three of the songs were featured in the Good Will Hunting soundtrack (Angeles, Say Yes, and Between the Bars).
Elliott Smith- Either/Or

XO marks Elliott Smith's major label debut on DreamWorks records. Released only a year after Either/Or, it has more up-tempo songs with drums. While this does slightly take away from the usual 'a guy singing with a guitar' sound of Elliott Smith, it's not to say the songs aren't excellent.
There's not much to be said here. Ear Bleeding Country is the best of Dinosaur Jr., the alternative rock band from Massachusetts. Being fans of Nirvana, they have a distinctive sound characterized by their extensive use of feedback and distortion and J Mascis' nasal voice. My favorites are In A Jar, Freak Scene, Repulsion, and the horn led I'm Insane.
Beyond is Dinosaur Jr.'s first album since 1998, but it's like Mascis, Barlow, and Murph all took a time machine back to when they played together to record this album. Their trademark sound is definitely still intact here. It was released on May 1st of this year, although it was leaked four months prior. Personal favorites include Back to Your Heart, Almost Ready, and We're Not Alone.

music after all

Ugly Casanova is Isaac Brock's (of Modest Mouse) side project. They sound like a sometimes more up tempo Modest Mouse with more instruments. Things I Don't Remember is my favorite song.
Ugly Casanova- Sharpen Your Teeth

Pavement- Slanted and Enchanted pt.1
Pavement- Slanted and Enchanted pt.2

The Smiths are really good. Band members include now Modest Mouse's Johnny Marr and the new solo Morrissey. They're from the 80's era, but the music and lyrics are still legit today. My personal favorites are How Soon Is Now, I Want the One I Can't Have, and The Headmaster Ritual.
The Smiths- Meat is Murder

MIXX

These are just three all around great albums. Get them all.

Girl Talk - Night Ripper
A very interesting album... All the tracks are are just very very well mixed and matched songs put together to form one perfect seamless album from one end to the other. Very hard to describe but give it a chance and let it play through and you will grow to love it like all of us have :).

My personal favorite Radiohead album

At the Drive-In!

At the Drive-In - Relationship of Command

I discovered At the Drive-In early last summer when I first heard the extremely catchy song on Relationship of Command, One Armed Scissor. The last album ATD-I produced before breaking up and my favorite. A must have.

At The Drive-In - In/Casino/Out
One of ATD-I's better Ep's containing only six songs. Stand outs are For Now... We Toast and Napoleon Solo.

At The Drive-In - El Gran Orgo
Another EP and my personal favorite album of At the Drive-In. Dowload this and you may find a new favorite band.

The Beatles

Here are The Beatles. Once we get more of their albums uploaded, this post will be edited with the albums. So check back every once in a while.

Sgt. Peppers is The Beatles' eighth album, and is regarded by many as their best/most influential piece of work. It was released in 1967, and it even ranked number 1 in Rolling Stone's "The 500 Greatest Albums of all Time" in 2003. Download it if you like classic rock.
Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band

The Beatles' seventh album, Revolver showcased the band's musical developement and growth that would be greater seen on later albums. It includes the standout Paul McCartney song Eleanor Rigby and I'm Only Sleeping.

Ska!

Catch 22 - Keasbey Nights

Catch 22's first album and there best. Written almost entirely by Ska figurehead Thomas Kalnoky this is widely considered as the best ska album ever made.
